Free Wireless Internet Available in the Waiting Room
![]()
What It Means
We now have a free wireless internet access point in the office, making our high-speed internet connection accessible throughout the office. If you have a laptop/notebook computer or portable device such as a iPod Touch, iPhone, PDA or cellular telephone equipped to receive wireless internet signals, you can use the internet, browse the web, send email etc. while waiting in the waiting room.
What You Need
Your computer needs a wireless access card (current retail cost is about $20 - $40) which supports the access standard called "WiFi" or "802.11b." Computers supporting the newest high-speed standard, called "802.11g" will also work. Apple computers have internal "Airport" cards & internal antennas, while cards for most Windows computers plug into the PC-Card slot and leave a small antenna "bulge" protruding.
If you use a PDA or cellphone, it must be "WiFi-enabled," or "802.11b-ready." If your computer has a Centrino decal or insignia, you are all set--no card needed. WiFi-compatible PCs, Macs, cellphones and PDAs are all supported. Once your computer or device is ready to receive signals, just set your device to "listen" for our network identifier, or SSID, which is simply "Dr. Bonine's Wireless Internet" (please note the upper case letters, and the spaces).
That's all there is to it!
